Cartoons

Sitting in class with my "angel" students I'm overhearing things about cartoon characters -"did you know that Sponge Bob is gay?"- which gets me thinking, remember The Smurfs? You know, when we decided that Smurfette was a slut and giving it up to all the Smurf boys.

Why is it that as teenagers we decide to take sweet innocent cartoons that gave us such joy as children and completely demoralize them? It really is sad, poor Dora, the things that you can find on her. "Grown up" Dora just makes me sad, seriously google it... I don't want to post the picture as this is public and I'm a responsible adult (at least I'm trying). But in the computer lab my students felt the need to look it up, it is awful! map is between her legs! Oh and they so wonderfully showed me that there are no-no toys of Dora. Maybe this upsets me because my poor little baby girl sits there watching these cute cartoons with complete awe.

Oh well - either way I still truly believe that Shaggy hears Scooby talking because he's tripping!
