Kernersville, K'Ville, K'Vegas...

Yay! Woot Woot! We finally bought a house, and we close April 15! I've kept it to myself because every time we find a house something ridonkulous happens and we don't get it. This time, though, we are in the clear so far...
K'Ville is the ultimate Southern Suburban area. It is right between Winston Salem and Greensboro. To me it is the North Carolina equivalent of Chandler. Oh yeah and Chris Daughtry of American Idol lives in Kernersville, so that makes it cool, right?!?!? Ha!

The house we are buying I am so excited about. It's across the street from the Elementary School, which I personally think is adorable! It has a huge front and back yard. There is so much I want to do with the yard- it's not that it's awful just plain; grass in the front, grass in the back, no flowers, no trees etc.

I want to plant something like this along the front porch

I'm super happy with the inside! Nothing needs to be fixed! Which in this day and age when you buy a home that was previously lived in there seems to always be something. Not here, evidently it was a foreclosure that two investors went in and completely remodeled. New kitchen, bathrooms, floors, light fixtures... But of course I have plenty I want to do with the inside. I'm not a white wall person in the least. I have to have color, but not over powering, everything has to have a flow. I'm not the person who has one bright blue kitchen and then the the family room purple! Oh no no, that's tacky, I prefer tasteful. I'm thinking yellow through out the main living areas. Especially in the great room, with larger rooms it's difficult to find a color that wont over power and seem out of control. I think a soft-ish yellow would brighten up that area perfectly.

The one room that might be a bit dark in the wall area is the kitchen. We have lighthouse kitchen stuff (I'm admittedly obsessed). The cabinets are white, so I really think red would look amazing!

This is the yellow I'm looking at This is an idea of what it would look like
minus the hideous curtain

There is so much I want to do to make the house look perfect! Thankfully it is all decorating not serious fixer-upper stuff! Kevin is constantly telling me that it's stupid to try and do everything right away. I'm sorry, but I'm the person that when you move is up till 8 in the morning, while everyone else is passed out, still unpacking and getting things in their home. And please between my mom, mother-in-law, and me we are painting queens, so I fully intend to have everything painted before we move in!

There are a ton of other finishing touches (something with the fireplace?!?!) I would love to do, but know that there is a limit to what we can/should do when we first move in. After all, I'm a teacher and he's a salesman not millionaires!
