Okay I am so terrible right now! I love to blog, but right now the end of school has been so much hell that it's unbearable, to do much of anything when I FINALLY get home!
Here's the quick low down: this year for some ignorant reason they decided to have graduation at a different location than the football field. But to secure this facility they couldn't graduate on the 13th which is when they should based on our school schedule. They could only get June 6th! They tried to spin this wonderful thing, it would be advantageous for everyone, no downside at all. Oh no no no! This is sheer hell! We started testing Monday (in NC there are state tests following numerous classes you take), where only seniors are testing all others are supposed to be in designated classes for that amount of time not testing! This is how our schedule works:
Monday: 1st -7:55-12:00 (I have planning so I had to read a Physical Science test to a girl!)
2nd-12:05 - 1:40 (lunch is during this time)
3rd - 1:45 - 2:20
4th - 2:25 = 3:10
Okay rather than type each day out for this week how it works is today 2nd was the 4 hour block and 1st at the end of the day and so on for the rest of the week.
Seriously administrators what do you really think we can get teenagers to do for 4 hours??? Wouldn't the logical thing have been to do all testing early and then underclassmen have four days of fun? To answer myself yes, yes it would have made more sense, but that's not the way of the education system! So we'll babysit kids while we show them 2 movies in a row, and then try to keep them contained for the rest of the day even though they are ready to jump out the windows (no worries about window jumping fatalities the school is one level).
THEN, Friday-Wednesday, all the kids get to have their 4 days of testing: each class period has their own day and the only upside is they get released at 12.
So take all of this and throw in my insane decision to coach varsity cheer and all that that entails before summer beings I'm quite useless right now.
